Job Description
Our Christian academy is seeking a highly qualified math teacher to join our faculty part time. The successful candidate will have a passion for math and teaching, and will be responsible for instructing students in grades 6-12 in a variety of mathematical concepts and skills. The teacher will work collaboratively with other faculty members to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment, while also upholding the Christian values and principles that guide our school.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of math courses to students in grades 6-12, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and academic standards
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback on academic performance
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student learning and growth
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
- Uphold the Christian values and principles that guide our school, and model those values for students
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress
- Attend and participate in school events, including parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, and school-sponsored activities
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and principles, and ability to teach them effectively to students
- Passion for teaching and working with students in grades 6-12
- Commitment to upholding Christian values and principles in the classroom and beyond
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members
- Availability to work full-time, with occasional evening or weekend commitments
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in math, education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification or licensure
